CROSS COUNTRY 2017
Friday August 18, was the annual Wattle Grove Cross Country Race for 2017. There were junior, intermediate and senior events for both boys and girls, around the oval and through the school a number of times depending on the age group.

UNDERCOVER SCIENCE
Asher and Megha from Room 21, put on a Science Show in the Undercover Area at Lunchtime on Friday, for all the students to enjoy some science activities, before the Cross Country. There was a good turn out and they made it a lot of fun for everyone. Good job guys.

WIZARD OF OZ

Mrs McIlwraith and her drama team have been doing a great job, giving up lots of lunchtimes to rehearse for 'The Wizard of Oz'. It's looking like it will be a terrific show. Hope you can make it along. There will only be two shows, one for students and one for parents. Student show is Wednesday September 6. Family show is Thursday September 7 - tickets required.

KINDY PARENT FORUM
Wednesday August 16, was the day of the Kindy Parent Forum and there was a good turn out, with more than 60 parents coming along to join in the information sessions and get their 'goody pack'. Thanks to Mrs Grainger and all the Early Childhood Teachers who did the presentations this time. There was a lot of great feedback from the events of the morning.

STAFF SOUP DAY
Thanks to Mrs Street and the, Well Being, team, who organised the 'Staff Soup Day' this week. There were lots of yummy soups to try with lovely fresh buns, as well. What a treat on those cold days we had last week.

CIRCUIT BREAKERS IN ROOM 21
Room 21 has been learning about early humanoid species and are using their new 3D printers to print out a series of skulls of these early humans.
The first was Astralopithecines from 4 to 2.9 million years ago. It took 7 hours to print out a small copy of this early skull.
Young Engineers, Bernard & Sakshi from Western Power, who are helping Room 21 with their Circuit Breakers Project, visited the class last Friday and helped print out several items, including a copy of the Eiffel Tower.
